This year the Presbyterian Women’s Group in Whitehead celebrates its centenary. Records show that one hundred years ago, in 1909, money was returned to Presbyterian Church headquarters by our Ladies’ Missionary Society. This money was raised to support the Zenana Mission, which aimed to promote Christianity among women in Asia. Support for mission at home and overseas has continued over the years, although the organisation has had several changes of name, including Women’s Missionary Association, Presbyterian Women’s Association and, currently, Presbyterian Women.

*A special dinner will be held in November to mark this important anniversary.

Information is also available about the church-wide activities of Presbyterian Women.

Bowling Club

The Bowling Club meets, as arranged, on Mondays at 7.30 p.m. and Thursdays at 8.00 p.m.

Badminton Club

The Badminton Club meets on Thursday evenings at 8.00 p.m.

Friday Lunches

Lunches are available on Fridays from 12.00 noon until 1.30 p.m. in the main hall. These provide an opportunity for people to meet together over an excellent meal.

Home Groups

Home Groups are now a feature of many churches, and we are glad that many in Whitehead Presbyterian Church take the opportunity to meet in relaxed surroundings to support on another in their faith and to study God’s Word. Groups meet at different times and at different intervals.
