… a place for you |
What Goes On In HereWhatever your experience of Church, whether you are just beginning to explore the Christian faith or you have been attending for years, we want you to know that there is an open door and a place for you here. If you come to meet with us at 11.00 a.m. on a Sunday morning, you will be able to join us in worshipping the Living God. The style of worship will reflect our desire to give all the opportunity to praise God in a way that really engages them. Some of our services are more traditional and some will be more contemporary, but all of them will be carefully planned to give you the opportunity to have a profound encounter with Jesus Christ. We will sing together and bring our concerns and problems to God in prayer, and we will try to understand the great gifts that God has for us and the great expectations that He has of us by studying the bible. On the 4th Sunday morning of each month there will be an All-age Service and on the 3rd Sunday evening of each month there will be a King’s Praise Service led by the Praise Group. Our evening services usually begin at 7.00 p.m., but keep an eye on our announcements for occasional changes. If you would like someone to pray for you privately on some matter, our Prayer Ministry team is available each Sunday evening after the service. Of course there is much more to church than Sundays, and the entrance at the side of the church is often far busier than the more visible front door. What with the Banana Bunch Playgroup, which meets in our halls on weekday mornings, the Friday Lunch Club, the Badminton and the Bowling Clubs, the Anchor Boys and the Boys’ Brigade, the Girl Guides, Brownies and Rainbows, the church halls are rarely quiet. And that is without even mentioning Sunday mornings with Hizkidz, Godzone and Connect or Sunday evenings with Roughcutz for 11 to 14years and Youth Fellowship for older teens. We have prayer meeting opportunities at 8.30 p.m. on Thursday evenings in the minister’s room, on Saturday mornings at 9.00 p.m. in the Minor Hall and on Sunday mornings before worship at 10.15 a.m. in the Dr Stewart Room upstairs. You can come along to any or all of these and you will be very warmly welcomed, whether you are a church member or not. And even further outside the walls of the church building, we continue to be Church as many of our members meet together in Home Groups to support one another in prayer and delve even deeper into the bible. If you are curious and you want to know a little more about the Home Groups, just speak to the minister and he will be happy to answer your questions and maybe introduce you to one of our group leaders. |
